A thirty second recording of piano playing on a Monday afternoon in the Brown Residence common room on East Campus, at Duke University. A track with a main focus on a casual amateur piano improvisation, running parallel to the general noise of a busy, shared, closed college environment. Recorded on an iPhone 5s, which was placed on the right side of the piano player throughout the duration of the recording.
Sound recording of washers and dryers tumbling in a college dorm laundry room, as well as a vending machine and footsteps.
This is captured audio from my girlfriend eating popcorn that she had recently just popped. Hearing audio of things being chewed throughout this website actually made me intrigued how there wasn't any audio of anyone eating popcorn. I recorded her when she didn't notice, and you are able to realized that not every chew sounds the same, as well as her breathing somewhat hard because of how hot the popcorn was.

This is a recording of some Virginia Commonwealth University students coming into a large Biology 151 class two classes after a test had been taken. I am already seated in class. You can hear a girl talk to her friend about how she missed questions on the test. You may also hear the sound of a desk squeaking as a student pulls it out from the side, and over their laps getting prepared for class to begin. Recorded on a Zoom H1 handy recorder.
This is recorded audio from a Afro-venezuelan band that performed at the Richmond folk festival in Brown's park Richmond, Virginia. The group is called "Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo" and they were giving the audience quite the show. I was lucky enough to be able to capture audio of Ms. Machado singing, and it was very impressive. She had such a booming voice and was able to project well with her microphone, and she made sure to keep the audience interested as you hear... Read More
