This is the sound of a washing machine during the spin cycle. The recording device was sitting directly on the washing machine.
Recording of the water running into a cup full of paint brushes in the sink. After the water was turned off, the paint brushes were being swirled around in a cup half full of water; you can hear the brushes against each other and on the plastic cup.
Recording of a Speed Queen Industrial Washer in the Blackwell Residence Hall laundry room running a hot water cycle with four quarters inside. A stereo pair of contact mics by JrL were attached to the soap drawer and base of the machine, while a Zoom H4n Handy Recorder with unidirectional stereo mics was held about three inches in front of the porthole (four total audio tracks).

The very end of a wash cycle in a washing machine in the Alexander Avenue laundry room on Duke University's Central Campus. As the wash cycle ended, the heater in the room turned on. Only one washing machine was on. This recording was taken around 11:00 pm. Recorded with a Zoom H4N.
