Malone Johnson

A recording of the usually flooded Skiles walkway at Georgia Tech. Today, a calm Saturday afternoon, the space was instead serene with the chirping of birds and a small echo of a performance in the amphitheater across Tech Green. There is also a light murmur of people playing Frisbee on the green. This is a rare sight to see as on any weekday there would be a cascade of noise on the walkway. Recorded with Lenovo Legion Y720 Realtek microphone with Dolby Atmos. Edited with Audacity Software.

Nathan Eason

The 3rd floor of West Village by the Starbucks.  The low murmur of students' voices as they study and socialize and music played by Starbucks. Sharp sound of chair being pulled out followed by an opening and closing door as a student leaves. Recoded on IPhone 6 microphone.

Bontu Gelan

This is a sound recording of someone sitting down, preparing to study on the third floor of West Village Dining near the Starbucks, on a Saturday at 11:00 am. Recorded with an iPhone 6. The sound of the chair screeching across the floor along with the person making contact with the chair is heard, as that is the main focus of the audio. In the background there are faint sounds of the music from the Starbucks as well the person making contact with the table, by placing items on it and adjusting the chair.

The classroom has audible air conditioning running, and the sound of the student's sweater can be heard rubbing against the computer as they type. This is a recording of an automated toilet flushing. Since it was automated, there is no sound of a handle being pushed down. The recording was done in a public restroom in Cabell Library. The restroom was on the 2nd floor in the women's room and there were no other people or sounds in the bathroom at the time of the recording. I trimmed the recording a little in the beginning because it was silent while the motion activation was being set off. The toilet name is AquaVantage and the brand is Zurn. This sound was recorded on an iPhone 5S.

Leila Hashemi

The soft sounds of Kirkland Columbian dark roast coffee brewing in a Mr. Coffee Maker in the morning. Recorded on a ZOOM H4 recorder.
