'S' Sounds
This is a recording of some Virginia Commonwealth University students coming into a large Biology 151 class two classes after a test had been taken. I am already seated in class. You can hear a girl talk to her friend about how she missed questions on the test. You may also hear the sound of a desk squeaking as a student pulls it out from the side, and over their laps getting prepared for class to begin. Recorded on a Zoom H1 handy recorder.
This is recorded audio from a Afro-venezuelan band that performed at the Richmond folk festival in Brown's park Richmond, Virginia. The group is called "Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo" and they were giving the audience quite the show. I was lucky enough to be able to capture audio of Ms. Machado singing, and it was very impressive. The very end of a wash cycle in a washing machine in the Alexander Avenue laundry room on Duke University's Central Campus. As the wash cycle ended, the heater in the room turned on. Only one washing machine was on. This recording was taken around 11:00 pm. Recorded with a Zoom H4N.

Whenever I'm working at home, I enjoy using my iPod classic (yes, it's true), computer, and/or iPhone SE as playback devices to accompany whatever activity I may be doing at that moment. I noticed that every time I use the 1/8" stereo jack chord that is attached to the external speakers (4 total - 1 bass and 3 smaller speakers) to my playback device, there would be a hum/"record skipping" type noise that would emit from the speakers.
