Chocolate-covered espresso beans being scooped from a grocery store bulk section into a produce bag. Sound recorded at a snack section of an Ingles grocery store. The sound depicts a customer opening the snack container, grabbing and opening a produce bag, then scooping the chocolates into said bag.
Sound recording of scrambled eggs being scraped from a medium, stainless steel, nonstick, Black and Decker pan. Large Grade A eggs were scrambled over an open flame, lightly sauteed with olive oil and cheddar cheese was added at the end. Eggs were scraped out with a plastic spatula.

Female hands and nails scratching against relatively taught, flame resistant fabric. The scratching against the fabric, which is a dorm room mattress, increases in intensity throughout the 12 second audio clip. As the scratching against the fabric gets more intense the noise starts to sound wavey and creates an alien like sound. Recorded on a Zoom H1 recorder.
This is my first sound upload of my nails scratching against a Styrofoam to-go cup from chick-fil-a.
I used a piece of paper and a feathery pen to create the sound I call "The Scribe". This sound applies to this class in that some of the slaves were able to read. The literacy of slaves was an uncommon blessing and was frowned upon by masters. The scribe sound is derived from my vision of Phyllis Wheatley or other African American writers we have studied in class, who wrote their most prolific writings using a feathery pen on stiff parchment paper.
Sound recording of "Bell Tower," a large metal wind-chime public sculpture, near highway traffic on a windy winter day. Recorded with Zoom H6 recorder and Audio-Technica 8010 condenser microphone.
Recording in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra on the front driver side, the unlatching and latching of the seat belt recorded on an iPhone 7. With slight pressure on the seat beat button the release of the seat belt retracts back into its original position by the door. Only to be pulled again across my body to be placed in its latch securely with a click sound accompanying it.

A secondary theme typically occurs during the exposition of a sonata form movement in a different key from the primary theme. It typically starts after a brief pause, is often highly lyrical, and beings at the dynamic piano. This excerpt, from Franz Danzi's Sinfonia Concertante in Eb major, highlights many of these key features of an eighteenth-century secondary theme. It starts in the key of the dominant, Bb major, has a dynamic marking of piano, is quite lyrical, and occurs after a pause in... Read More
