ripping
Mary Zhang
Sound recording of the process of opening of a paper teabag over a mug and placing the teabag into the mug. Recorded with Zoom H4N recorder.

The paper is torn nine times. The first rip is longways down the middle. The sound is long and drawn-out. The next four times are horizontal, down one of the halves. In the next four tears, the paper is ripped into very small pieces so the sounds are sharper and shorter. The rustlings between the first 5 tears are the sounds of a newly torn piece being put down.
