Call for Food

Sound recording of a food runner at Parker and Otis trying to locate the customer to deliver his or her food. Parker and Otis is not a sit down restaurant, instead orders are taken at the front counter and then patrons take their seats and wait for their food to be brought out to them. Rather than using table numbers or cards, your name is taken down when you order and when your food is ready the food runner will announce your name to try to locate you. In this recording, you can hear the food runner say the name "Ariella" three times, each time raising his voice a little louder until he receives a vocal response or a hand-raise.
