A cadenza performed during the first movement of Joseph Reicha's Concerto for Flute (here performed on the oboe). A cadenza is a display of the performer's virtuosity through elaboration of thematic material and harmonic progressions found within the work performed or taken from another of the composer's works as an homage. It is characterized by freedom of tempo, articulation, timbre, and ornamentation.
